Wirral History and Heritage Fair
- Saturday, 10th March 2018, 10:00 AM - 16:00 PM
- Birkenhead Town Hall
The Wirral History and Heritage Association will be holding its annual History and Heritage Fair on Saturday 10 March, from 10.00 am to 4.00 pm in Birkenhead's historic Town Hall.
This is a once in a year chance to explore Wirral’s fascinating past and see inside the Grade II* listed Town Hall, with its breath taking stained glass windows, splendid fittings and its portraits of the men who 'made Birkenhead'..
With dozens of historical and heritage stands there will be lots to discover. You can view old photographs, find out about local historical societies and get details of historic walks and tours, while experts will be on hand with advice to help you research the history of your house or trace your family tree. In addition there will be memorabilia and antiques to purchase and stalls with new and second hand books for sale.
Displays will celebrate Wirral’s historic attractions including Birkenhead Park, Birkenhead Priory, Bidston and Leasowe Lighthouses, Flaybrick Memorial Gardens, Port Sunlight Museum, the Williamson Art Gallery, the Wirral Tramway and Transport Museum and the tiny West Kirby Museum.
Why not climb aboard a Vintage bus or meet characters dressed in costume from Wirral’s past.
Hot and Cold Refreshments will be available all day.
This is a Family friendly event. There is disabled access. Admission is Free. All are welcome.
A Discovery Day Out for everyone.
