“Market Street businesses seem enthused with the effect the BID is having.”- Lindsay Hudson, The Vintage Interior Fairy

Welcome to our new Shop Independent campaign

Birkenhead BID, the Business Improvement District, has launched a new online campaign to highlight the constantly growing and diverging range of independent shops that can be found in Birkenhead.

We are focusing the spotlight on one independent business per week, we will promote the business on our Twitter feeds from @BirkenheadBID and Facebook on @birkenheadbid. Each business will also have the opportunity to showcase their products by taking over our Instagram page birkenheadbid

Andy Snell, Head of Place Shaping and Strategic Partnerships at Wirral Chamber said:
Birkenhead’s shopping provision is improving all the time. The combination of high street favourites and independent specialists brings in shoppers from across Wirral.

There are a number of areas within Birkenhead that don’t get the footfall they deserve and these areas contain some of the most unique, interesting and exciting businesses in the town. With this campaign, we hope to not only highlight the fantastic work these businesses are doing and bring to light the products and services they offer but to also help the shoppers find them and thereby discover everything that Birkenhead has to offer.”

Carole McWilliams of Amorini Antiques said, “We’ve had retail premises in Birkenhead for almost 40 years, firstly our printing business and then, for the past four years, Amorini Antiques Centre.  We’ve seen many changes during this time and are really pleased that businesses in the area now have the support of the Birkenhead BID team.  Independent traders are the heart of the town and we need to celebrate and nurture them so that the area can thrive and grow.”

If you are an independent business owner in the Birkenhead BID area and would like to be featured, please contact us at info@birkenheadbid.co.uk
