Wirral Council is launching a new campaign ‘5 Ways To Wellbeing’

Wirral Council is launching a new campaign ‘5 Ways To Wellbeing’ today, Tuesday, October 10, World Mental Health Day.

The date is significant as Wirral’s campaign is focusing on how 5 simple actions:

• Connecting

• Being active

• Taking notice

• Learning

• Giving …

… Can lead to better physical and mental wellbeing.

Cllr Chris Jones, Wirral’s Cabinet Member for Public Health, said: ‘Physical and mental health are inextricably linked. Just as we’re advised to eat 5 fruit and veg a day to improve our physical health, our campaign is proposing 5 easy ways to improve mental wellbeing.

‘Small changes can make a big difference. With one in four people experiencing mental distress during their lifetime, it’s never been more important to take care of your mind and body.’

The campaign has a range of supporting materials that will be distributed free to partner agencies and organisations so they can share with staff.

We’re also asking people to share their top tips for mental and physical wellbeing on the council’s facebook and twitter during World Mental Health Day by using #5wayswirral. For inspiration see wirral.gov.uk/5ways.
